Rural Arts Music Production
- Owner and composer Joanna Bates obtained a commission for a film
score as a result of an introduction made by MediaDev.
 |
"my
own business of music production has developed much faster due
to the advice I received from Stephen Broadfield. Specifically:
· My work was recently part of an exhibition at the NEC
in Birmingham
· I am working on a BBC Drama - real progress that would
not have been achieved if it were not for MediaDev.
Creative industries struggle in Herefordshire because the 'bridges'
to potential clients either do not exist or they are not sufficiently
able. MediaDev has more than begun to address this;" |

Headline Communication Ltd - Director, Peter Taylor created a new
business publishing electronic newsletters with fellow MediaDev member,
Mark Balcombe of Balcombe News.
 |
"I've
found the events and networking to be extremely worthwhile;
it has put me in touch with other professionals whose existence
I hadn't even guessed at. MediaDev networking has directly resulted
in us setting up a new company, which is now up and running,
(see www.project-news.com) and we have successfully applied
for support from the Prograta Fund to help us develop systems
and marketing." |

Early Vision was supplied advice and guidance in the video production
skills required to produce their interactive early learning product.
MediaDev supplied details of interactive CD programmers, artists,
composer musicians to work on the project and also signposted funding
opportunities that enabled the company to gain £100,000 investment.
 |
"I
can say - without any doubt - that we would not have been able
to launch our products successfully by the due date without
your help, advice, support and assistance through MediaDev and
I cannot thank you enough for your help. With grateful thanks" |

The MediaDev membership was informed of the ending of the project
in March 2005 and consulted as to the benefits of MediaDev to them.
John Wallace of Mental Elf Productions made the following comments.
 |
"I
am sure that the happier state of affairs now current in Herefordshire
is due in no small part to the action of MediaDev upon the scene.
Even the simple action of organising social events and special
screenings seems to me to be a great aid to the cohesion of
the media sector here in Herefordshire. Your regular updates
regarding funding, commissions and employment opportunities
are invaluable to freelance operators such as myself. Furthermore,
your extensive programme of affordable training days are a crucial
asset to emerging talent as well as those seeking to widen their
portfolio of skills in a production climate where multi-skilled
crew members and creative staff are the rule rather than the
exception." |
